That's us told right here! Ridiculousy bad rap poet lays it down on us gays and why we a-bom-in-ate.
P.S. People sometimes say that God has the best architects and artists, usually when looking at some amazing church or the Sistine Chapel ceiling or something. But actually, God never had great artists. Money and power did. It wasn't the love of God that painted great Renaissance masterpieces it was love of Medici cash. And that's never more clear than now-a-days when God has nothing but the most dreadful artists. Every modern church is filled with the most banal shite - dreary mosaics, painfully dull tapestries, crap stained glass windows - and if YouTube has taught me anything it's that Christians are horrible musicians and even worse poets. Though I guess the Devil always got the good musicians, didn't he?

Well done us!
According to an Italian newspaper report it was a report about the influence of a "gay lobby" in the Vtican that was the final straw for Her Majesty the Pope.
I bet this seminarian was involved. Remember him? He clutched his pearls when that crazy woman made a lunge for Elle Papa a few years ago. I can't find the video online anymore. I wonder where she is now? I mean the seminarian, not the crazy old lady.

This is pretty shocking. It's already been flagged by YouTube so it may not be up for much longer. Another example of religion poisoning people. And of course the assholes of the Iona Institute here would say they condem stuff like this, while ignoring the fact that their own rhetoric also breeds this kind of poison. They're just better at hiding it.
But seeing this happen in London, perpetrated by a minority group (against whom the very same "arguments" could be made, but they are too blind or ignorant to join the dots) and gleefully posted to the internet with pride, is pretty shocking.

Former President Mary was on Pat Kenney's radio show this morning, on the phone from Rome where she is studying for a doctrate in canon law (and presumably still rocking her new lesbian-who-means-business pixie cut). Of course I spent much of the interview rolling my eyes and wishing this impressive and intelligent women would turn her intellect to something more worthwhile than canon law and Church theology, but when the subject of the church's attitude to homosexuality came up she spoke very powerfully and critically of the effect the church's stance can have on young gay people.
RTE's web report HERE.
Speaking on RTÉ Radio, Mrs McAleese said she was concerned at the growing number of young men, and in particular young gay men, who take their own lives in Ireland.
She said that when the research is broken down, it shows that young gay men are one of the most at-risk groups in Ireland.
Mrs McAleese said many of these young men will have gone to Catholic schools and they will have heard there their church's attitude to homosexuality.
"They will have heard words like disorder, they may even have heard the word evil used in relation to homosexual practice," she said.
"And when they make the discovery, and it is a discovery and not a decision, when they make the discovery, that they are gay, when they are 14, 15 or 16, an internal conflict of absolutely appalling proportions opens up".

How many other things in life can poison a person so much that they will write this letter to their own son?
"In August of 2007, I finally built up the courage to tell my father I was gay. The moment I said it, the phone got quiet and he got off the phone after a few "Okay"s. I decided to give him time to process the news. About a week later, and not long before my birthday, I received the following letter:"
(transcript below)

"James: This is a difficult but necessary letter to write. I hope your telephone call was not to receive my blessing for the degrading of your lifestyle. I have fond memories of our times together, but that is all in the past. Don't expect any further conversations With me. No communications at all. I will not come to visit, nor do I want you in my house. You've made your choice though Wrong it may be. God did not intend for this unnatural lifestyle. If you choose not to attend my funeral, my friends and family will understand. Have a good birthday and good life. No present exchanges will be accepted. Goodbye, Dad."
The son adds:
"It's important to know just what this zealotry from Bryan Fisher, Maggie Gallagher, Dan Cathy, et al., does to everyday people. I've never done drugs, was an excellent student, an obedient child (far less trouble than many of my classmates), didn't drink until I was 22 because it terrified me, and have had just 1 speeding ticket in my life. Yet I am still seemingly deserving of this terrible act of hate and cowardice that one person can place on another. 5 years on and I am still doing fine, though this letter saunters into my mind every once in a while. When it does, I say without hesitation: Fuck you, Dad."
There has been a huge response on Reddit.

'Cos it is a hotbed of flamimg gays!
THE Irish College in Rome has a "gay friendly" reputation and a series of homosexual incidents have been reported there, according to a report carried out for Pope Benedict.
The report, by the Archbishop of New York, Cardinal Timothy Dolan, has called for substantial reform at the institution which educates students for the priesthood.
Cardinal Dolan found that the college "suffers from the reputation of being gay friendly, however unjust such a reputation might be".
His report says "a recent series of homosexually directed improprieties have been reported at the college".
Some past students had also admitted they had "frequented gay bars".
Read more at The Irish Times and The Herald.
Though we didn't need a report from the Archbishop of New York to tell us that! If you've ever been to a gay bar in Rome you already knew that not just the Irish College but the Vatican in general is absolutely riddled with closets, barely colsets, and not-even-bothering-to-hide-its who must tie themselves in to all sorts of knots to justify themselves.
(thanks Jeff)

LGBT NOISE are organising a protest next week during the all-singing all-dancing all-praying all-gay-hating Eucharist Congress. The protest will be happening opposite the Anglsea Road entrance to the RDS at 12 noon on Sunday the 10th. The speakers at the event inside the RDS include our old friends David Quinn, John Waters, and the lovely Brenda Power. (*shudder*)
Here's what NOISE have to say about it:
Vatican and Catholic Church officials around the world have a detailed and shameful history of opposing the civil rights of LGBT people and their families. Church authorities defame and offend LGBT people on a regular basis. Church leaders lobby governments to prevent LGBT people's civil rights. Among the issues Noise campaigns on is civil marriage equality which is a civil right not a religious rite. If Catholic leaders want nothing to do with same-sex marriage, they don't have to have one.
To emphasis the principle of the separation of church and state LGBT Noise will protest outside the Eucharistic Congress on Sunday the 10th of June at 12 noon as the Papal Legate, Cardinal Marc Ouellet, prepares to open the week-long event. We will gather across the road from the Anglesea Road entrance to the RDS, Dublin 4. Bring along your friends and family and let's have a respectful and dignified protest.
RIGHTS NOT RITES!
Lots more info on the Facebook event page.
