It's interesting to compare this footage of the Queen Mother's wedding in 1923 with Friday's royal wedding. In some ways it shows the constant nature of the British monarchy, while in other ways it seems so very different. The dress for starters!
At the time, the groom was the Duke of York (later King George VI) and the bride was Lady Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon (later Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother), who of course were recently the subjects of the movie The King's Speech.

This is a fun short documentary looking at the Royal Wedding from the perspective of various nuts on both side of the royal fence - from bizarre fanatics who think William is destined to lead Britain back to greatness by defeating Muslim hoards in a modern Crusade, to rabid republicans who'd like to see the Queen hung drawn and quartered and are prepared to burn muppets alive to achieve that goal. No seriously. I'm not making that up.
Watch it HERE.
