On St Patick's Day 1983 I was 14 year old and went to the Ambassador cinema at the top of O'Connell St. I remember it very clearly for two reasons.
First, I was with my friend Fergus and his Dad, who at he time was a movie reviewer for the Irish Times, and we walked straight past the long, holiday, post-parade, cinema queue and were shown to our seats by the manager. I felt like royalty.
And secondly, I remember it because I knew nothing about the movie I was about to see and it blew me away - I had never seen anything like it before. The movie was Tron.
So, I've been following the progress of the sequel, Tron: Legacy with anticipation. Daft Punk have done the soundtrack, and here's the video for the first track, Derezzed.

My gay Adam is the vocalist with The Late Fragments (Facebook, MySpace), a very fun and talented bunch of boys who kept an old lady on her toes at the Electric Picnic. Here are two of the fragments covering Kate Bush's Wuthering Heights, as performed when they supported Jay Brannan recently. Lovely.

Family, food, scooters, and an affair - absolutely perfect: La Dolce Vita! I was even the subject of a half-hearted gay-bashing while kissing in a doorway while sheltering from a downpour. It was very romantic!

As you might expect, it's overblown and overlong, but if you can stomach 35 minutes of Kanye's ego, it's also full of great images. I wanted to hate it but couldn't quite.
