Campaign video for the new Mugler menswear collection. It's pretty, and pretty sexy, if not particularly inspiring or original. Reminds me somewhat of the heyday of late 80's/90's Herb Ritts/Bruce Webber, lots of statuesque man splashing about in water in high contrast black and white.
And in keeping with fashion's current fascination with transsexuals, it has Jessica 6 on the soundtrack and Nomi Ruiz herself modeling.

Six Flags amusement park in New Orleans was abandoned when the city was hit by Hurricane Katrina six years ago and has remained abandoned and crumbling ever since. Lots more photographs HERE.

"How do you photograph one of the most secretive countries in the world?
For Charlie Crane the answer was simple, photograph what they want you to see. If there is no possibility of getting underneath the surface then the answer was to photograph the surface itself. This series is taken from a larger body of work in Pyongyang, the capital city of North Korea."
More HERE.

Lovely evocative time-lapse of Dublin shot in various locations around the city this spring by photographer Richard Twomey. I never need reminding how beautiful Dublin can be -mostly because of the amazing light - because walking aimlessly with Penny regularly reminds me of that often over-looked fact, but if you've forgotten, watch the clip.

We've seen similar work to these recreations of old photographs by photographer Irina Werning before, but the detail in these is impressive. More HERE.

(thanks Brian)

If you've been to a drag show in Dublin over the past few years, chances are you've seen photographer Steven Doyle snapping away near the front. Not that drag queens are his only subject, but he does like the denizens of the night.
An exhibition of Steven's work will run in The Front Lounge from May 2nd.

Before returning to his hometown, Dublin born Steven spent many years living and working across Europe, including time in London, Milan and Rome. While much of his work has focused on fashion and performers (and not just the drags - he's also shot portraits of musicians like Suzanne Vegas and Mary Coughlan) he also spent nearly ten years in Eastern Europe where much of his work concerned the HIV/AIDS epidemic and the street children of Bucharest.
You can see more of Steven's work on his website.

I'm not sure what these photographs were taken for, but a cute Brazilian photographer called Anderson de Paiva took them in Pantibar.
