I also think the whole Madonna Vs Gaga thing is silly, but, sometimes when I hear Gaga's monsters banging on like she's the new Madonna, I roll my eyes because Gaga has only been around for a flash. Will she still be a huge megastar in thirty years? Mybe. But it's unlikely simply because only a handful of women have ever achieved careers of that magnitude, with Madonna (who it was recently claimed* is the first pop music billionaire) being the the queen bee. That is, of course, if commercial success is what you want to measure your pop icons by. But I suspect Gaga does. You don't get to be Madonna or Gaga without being interested in commercial success.
*Admittedly it was The Sun that first put forward that claim and the internet has spent half the last week calling arguing about it.

I was already pretty sure that she was a tool from following the whole "faggot" Twitter spat, but I put some of it down to her youth and hoped she'd grow up and shut up. But after watching this I'm not going to waste any more time on this idiot because turns out she's nasty too. It's ironic that her one good song made such use of the word "cunt" because it pretty much sums her up too. "Everything I do must be for my own benefit". What a great motto to live your life by! And by the way Azealia, no, you are not an "icon". You've had one single.
Next!

This is a just-released "alternate version" of One Direction's Kiss Me video. It's a different edit, with lots of "making of" shots. I have no idea why there's a second version months after the original, but that's not important right now. What is important is that first Harry kisses Zayn, then Niall kisses Zayn, and then Harry slaps his ass cowboy fashion. Louis must be absolutely ragin'.

This comes highly recommended to me and sounds like a suitably different way to spend an Easter Sunday - blindfolded in the dark.
From the blurb:
It's been over eight years since Life After Modelling released their only single, the truly wonderful ‘December 21st'. The intervening years have been far from wasted. On Sunday March 31st Life After Modelling will unveil their album ‘The Gospel According to Matthew J Anthony' in the suitably beautiful Smock Alley Theatre.
This evening will be a sensuous wonder. An evening where the shackles of preconception can be swapped for the immersion of darkness. The performance won't happen in the dark but you won't be able to see. If you're there, you'll be blindfolded.
Why? Why not...?
Imagine the possibilities; give your eyes a break, give your ears a gallop. Let these new songs wash over you and let us commune afterwards in the beautiful Banquet Hall for drinks and post-mortems.
You can have a listen here: Soundcloud
And you can book tickets: Smock Alley

The video for The Stars Are Out Tonight, the second track off Bowie's new album, is great, with an amazing cast of androgynous, gender-bending, fashion-y stars. Tilda Swinton is her usual amazing self as Bowie's wife in the clip, and that's androgynous Dutch model Saskia de Brauw playing the young Bowie character, and of course that's gender-bending (not sure if she identifies as trans or not) supermodel Andrej Pejic as the gorgeous young blonde who kisses the prone Bowie at one point. Nice to see Bowie still has an interest in gender expression.
