... we'll all be whispering about how Bunny changed her relationship status on Facebook to "in a relationship" - but then pretending we didn't even notice. She may be in a relationship but she can still turn mean without warning.

If, like me, you're living with an Angry Birds addiction (I am not a gamer by any stretch of the imagination, but those Angry Birds got under my skin at Christmas and have made a number of boring journeys fly by) then this fun animation will tickle you, as the Angry Birds take on the "big pigs" of Tunisia, Egypt, and Libya.

An awesome sand storm (and I'm using "awesome" as it's intended to be used) engulfs Kuwait and within minutes is in total darkness. According to the info on the video this is a very rare occurrence and certainly the reaction of the onlookers suggests so.
I don't know how well the reactions are translated in the subtitles, but I love the guy at the 1:38 mark. Everyone else is wondering whether the world is ending and he says: "Look up man! What sexy it is!"

There's something really captivating about this footage shot between 1901 and 1906. They all seem so alive (if that makes sense). It's interesting too to see how they all react to the camera - this incredible modern technology. And to note how the faces are no different to the faces I'll see on the street today.
It was shot in "England and Ireland" but there is no specific information. I suspect the opening minutes might be Dublin. Certainly the river and the bridge seem like the Liffey and one of it's bridges - the width of the river, the height and width of the quays, the street... it all seems very familiar but I can't quite place it as any particular bridge and street for sure. The bridge seems a little too narrow to be O'Connell Bridge. Anyone want to hazzard a guess? Or is it in fact some other city altogether?
UPDATE: The consensus seems to be that the bridge is actually Cork.
(thanks Ange)

Today's Irish Times has a piece about a gay male couple who fought and eventually won the right to become foster parents, and how they have coped with fostering often damaged children.

Debbie Reynolds' husband Eddie Fisher left her for Elizabeth Taylor (think Jennifer, Brad and Angelina) but years later, in 1964, they made up when they were both sailing on the Queen Elizabeth and became good friends.
Anyone want to place a bet on Jennifer and Angelina becoming best girlfriends over G&Ts on a transatlantic flight?
