@Blasted Out. My point is that there are any number of different kinds of good music and it's simply impossible to please everyone. If we played the music you want to hear, I will 100% guarantee that there would be other people, also with good, but different taste in music, hating it. However, that's a general discussion and not relevant here really. What is to the point here, and I'll say it one last time: "we have a juke box." Like millions of bars - we are not a nightclub - we have a jukebox. It has proved very popular. People play what they want to hear. You are welcome to do likewise.

"one man's trash is another man's treasure". i find this comment depressing. there is such a thing as good music, like good art, good design and good writing. i am afraid that only somebody who really does not get music at all could say this. and that, i am afraid, shows in pantibar these days.

@troll...I want to hear your great taste in music.Why don't you start your own club night? It's easy to criticise,harder to actually do something positive.Other than that,"Give me a fucking break"!!

@panti: you are right - rafa plays in bukkake. hopefully f.a.g will be better - and i really do hope so. i'm not sure that a juke box is a music policy. but in any event, the sound is really terrible. i'm not trying to be a troll on all this. it's just that it would be good not to have to go to london for decent music.

@Blasted Out. I'll repeat - there is a juke box in Pantibar from which the music comes, except for very late after the show at the weekend - i.e. the last half hour. So, play whatever you want! And I'm not sure where you got the idea that Rafa Mafra (yes, that is his name, so no need to be snide) is DJing at F.A.G. ? He's not, and you won't find that written anywhere. And finally, as I (sort of) said to GUBUage, just because you like a particular type of music doesn't mean everyone else is going to agree with you. Good music is subjective.

@GUBUage - it's true what you say. the music is the same as the george (which is not a good thing) and the soundsystem is infinitely worse (which is a very bad thing). it really should not be beyond pantibar to have a few decent speakers - even for the shows which are, at present, aurally unbearable. and it should not be too hard to have a decent music policy put together before everybody is driven away to the hills. there is just no point in having another bar playing the same crap. equally, i am afraid rafa mafra, or whatever, is an ominous choice for f.a.g. god be with the glory days of spy on a sunday night with martin mccann and mark dixon. how the dublin gay scene has fallen.

How about someone sorting out the unbearable tunes at Pantibar? would be nice to be able to have a drink there without being driven out eventually by the sounds.

Yes please, I love it. Although if I'm honest the melody sounds very close to Small Town Boy by Bronski Beat.
